Basic Thai Massage Course

5-Day - Intensive – Mon to Fri – up to 8hrs per day - 40 hrs - Click for Price

This short Thai Yoga Massage Course offers a combination of only the most simple stretches and techniques taught in the Traditional sequence. With no meridian work or complex stretches, it is a great option for learning the basics. Our classes have a maximum of 8 students, ensuring everyone gets excellent personal attention.

A Taste of Thai Massage

Thai Massage can be very physically demanding.

As many people underestimate it, I decided to create a Basic Course.

This course keeps it simple, without an overload of information or the most difficult parts of the Practitioner Training. This way you can get a taste of Thai Massage and learn a basic full body sequence, all in 5 intensive days.

Is Thai Massage for me?

If you love both yoga and massages and think Thai Massage would be the perfect combination, but are unsure if your body can handle it, or if you will like it enough etc…

Or you may just want to learn a basic sequence; a few Thai Massage techniques to massage your loved ones…

Well, this is the course for you!

Accreditation

A Certificate of Attendance is gained at the end of the Basic Course.
Be aware that this will not gain you an Accreditation with the Association of Massage therapy, which recognises the  3-week Intensive Practitioner Training Course.

In this short time, you will not gain the techniques to work professionally with it, but it may give you more certainty in knowing if the Practitioner Training is for you or not.

Upon completion of the Basic Thai Massage Course, if you are interested in further enhancing your skills, you will receive a $200 DISCOUNT on the Practitioner Training Price.

Group courses are designed to give students an intensive learning experience, equipping them with the knowledge and tools they need to give a great Thai massage. Practice is supported by clear communication,  focus on safety, good technique and the correct use of the body.

We ensure this happens by:

  • Getting you prepared

By sending you some PRE-COURSE READININGS, so you can familiarise yourself with anatomy and the history of Thai Massage.

While students are encouraged to develop an intuitive sense of the body during the course, a basic knowledge of anatomical terms will make it easier to follow and understand what you are learning.

  • Starting with a YOGA CLASS

Starting 4 days a week with a 1.5 hour YOGA CLASS, tailored both on the sequence you will learn that day, and on your personal needs.

Besides preparing you for the Thai Massage work, Yoga classes work to physically, emotionally and spiritually support each individual throughout the intensity of the training

  • Giving you the tools

To support your learning you receive a unique and very thorough TRAINING MANUAL.

Full of precise instructions, detailed drawings and pictures, anatomical and therapeutic charts and references, it is an excellent tool to help you remember the sequence in class and once back home.

You will learn a full body Thai Massage sequence that encompasses the simpler stretches from the Front, Back and Sitting positions.

The Front Position will start at the feet, proceed with leg stretches, belly (Hara), chest, neck and hands.

The Back position will allow you to work the fascia on the back of the legs, the buttocks, the energy lines on the back and includes a couple of back-bends.

The Sitting position has a mix of pressure and stretches on the shoulders and back, including a spinal twist. To then finish with the neck and face.
